Hugo To Fidel: “Careful Or We’ll Be On Obama’s Right!”

3 06 2009

(POST UPDATED BELOW) Many a truth is said in jest via Al-Reuters:

Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez said on Tuesday that he and Cuban ally Fidel Castro risk being more conservative than U.S. President Barack Obama as Washington prepares to take control of General Motors Corp.

“Comrade Obama! Fidel, careful or we are going to end up to his right,” Chavez joked on a live television broadcast.

Holy $#*^ he called him “comrade.”  If Rush Limbaugh did that, MSNBC would start talking about oxycontons within the hour.

UPDATE: From the incredibly liberal Pravda, a scary view from the outside, that we should all take into account because we need to pay attention to the rest of the world:

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their “right” to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our “democracy”.  Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different “branches and denominations” were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the “winning” side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the “winning” side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America’s short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more then ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes.  Should we congratulate them?

I’m wondering if the American left will ever allow conservatives to call them “socialists” without smearing their character and marginalizing their reputations in some sort of reverso-witch-hunt maneuver, which ends up typecasting the accuser.

All these international lefties made me realize; ripping liberals for being Marxists is kind of like me talking about your mom.  I really can’t get away with it unless we go legit she’s my mom.

“Sometimes I Feel Like, Somebody’s Watching Me”

20 04 2009

And listening to my calls, and tracking my URL visits, and storing my GPS movements, etc…

This paranoia is something I share with liberals, who elected Obama in large part because he pledged to restore our Constitutional rights of privacy and ditch the power-grabbing Police State model while declassifying Bush’s previously stonewalled perversions so that we could heal.

However, it seems Obama is turning out to be potentially far more invasive than Bush, and even a few liberals (outside the corporate msm) are noticing.

I expected this from Obama, a man who has now appointed more, “czars” than the Romanovs, as The Volokh Conspiracy highlights:

Over some 300 years, Russia was ruled by a total of 18 czars of the Romanov dynasty. However, as David Rothkopf of Foreign Policy points out, the Obama administration has now appointed more czars than that in just three months.

But back to Obama the Constitution Shredder, from Reason:

Barack Obama, who at one point was looking at least a little better than his predecessor on the issue of warrantless domestic surveillance, may turn out to be just as bad. During his campaign he criticized the Bush administration for flouting the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) by monitoring communications involving people in the U.S. without a court order. But then he went along with amendments to FISA that legalized such surveillance, even giving in on the issue of retroactive immunity for the telecommunications companies that facilitated it. Now The New York Times reports that the National Security Agency has been abusing its new statutory powers, collecting purely domestic communications along with the international phone calls and email messages covered by the FISA amendments:

Several intelligence officials, as well as lawyers briefed about the matter, said the N.S.A. had been engaged in “overcollection” of domestic communications of Americans. They described the practice as significant and systemic, although one official said it was believed to have been unintentional.

Meanwhile, the Obama administration is trying to quash an Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) lawsuit aimed at holding Bush administration officials responsible for warrantless surveillance conducted prior to the FISA amendments, surveillance that Obama himself has said was illegal. It argues that allowing the lawsuit to proceed would harm national security—a claim frequently made by the Bush administration, which Obama has criticized as excessively secretive. Obama’s Justice Department has gone even further than the Bush administration, arguing that the PATRIOT Act immunizes government officials who participate in illegal surveillance, except when “the Government obtains information about a person through intelligence-gathering, and Government agents unlawfully disclose that information.”

The Atlantic’s, Marc Ambinder has something on Bush’s favorite loophole, the state secrets privilege:

The Obama administration suffered a bit of a legal setback this afternoon: a federal judge in California rejected the administration’s assertion of the state secrets privilege in the civil suit brought by an Islamic charity that was allegedly subjected to illegal NSA surveillance.

Obama: “The Fundamentals Of The Economy Are Sound, Not Strong.”

17 03 2009

Yesterday an old-style reporter asked Robert Gibbs about John McCain’s the White House’s new stance that, “the fundamentals of the economy are strong sound.”

Gibbs tried out his Obama-impression, but fell flat in the semantics game, when he insisted “strong” and “sound” are fundamentally different.

Someday, a wise-ass reporter might ask if Obama inherited a sound economy.

Recall, McCain was ahead of Obama at the time of the Lehman Brothers collapse and his untimely comments were used by smear merchants in the corporate media to show him as, “out of touch.”

How many houses does that guy have anyways?

This, along with his hasty support for the bailout (TARP), when Obama was merely, “there if we need him” proved to be the most pivotal moment of the campaign.

By the way, Obama is now fear-mongering on behalf of bailouts, and McCain’s pathetic ass is against them.

And shocker…BO’s numbers are stinking up the joint.

obamasmoking

“Did somebody say joint?”

Flashback vids are here to bring you there.

Chris Matthews lampooned McCain for saying “the fundamentals of the economy are strong” 22 times.

The epitome of a politician, Barack Obama, ridiculed McCain for the statement and made this campaign ad during his adorable class warfare faze.

Flip to 57 seconds of MSNBC’s McCain bash to see Obama on 9/15/08 say, “we just woke up to financial disaster and this morning he (McCain) said, ‘the fundamentals of the economy are strong.’  Senator McCain, what economy are you talking about?”  Then, liar-in-chief says, “you all remember Phil Gramm, he’s the guy who said, ‘we’re just going through a mental recession’ and called the United States of America, a ‘nation of whiners.’ You can’t make this stuff up. It’s like a Saturday Night Live routine”

I always get a kick out of the crowd whining when Obama tells them they’ve been called whiners but hey, at least Gramm didn’t call us a “nation of cowards.”

Here’s Glenn Beck with a round-up.

Tigerhawk compliments Instapundit.

Glenn Reynolds makes a nifty, if somewhat lawyerly, point: If the economy is still fundamentally strong, what are the actual problems inherited by the Obama administration? That said, I much prefer the president talking it up than talking it down, and if it takes a little hypocrisy to make that happen I’m all for giving him a pass. The outrage, of course, is that so many in the media credulously parroted the Obama campaign’s talking points last fall. But even that is only the “usual” outrage.

Thanks Tigerhawk, back to Adam at OutOfTheBlu,

“Hawaiian born or not, this guy is a freaking fraud and the people who haven’t figured that out, are even worse.”

Finally John Kerry Explains His Idea Of A “Global Test”

11 03 2009

The msm continues to be outsourced as the Times of India informs us:

The United States is lining up billions of dollars in new economic and military aid to Pakistan despite reports that Islamabad is using American tax-payer money for deals with the Taliban and accounts of US arms ending up in the hands of the extremists.

Amid an ongoing review of the so-called Af-Pak policy initiated by the Obama administration, Washington, under pressure from influential Senator John Kerry among other lawmakers and lobbyists, is said to be considering a one-time $ 5 billion aid to Pakistan over and above the $ 1.5 billion annual package for ten years currently under review for passage through Congress. Releasing a report by the think-tank Atlantic Council on Wednesday, Kerry, who is also the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and is in a position to pilot the aid package, raised the prospect of a total collapse in Pakistan if it was not helped urgently.

Pakistan is indeed a scary place and the thought of John Kerry contributing to its future is down right nightmarish.

A Muslim So Moderate, You’ll Just Lose Your Head

17 02 2009

If you’re married to him…

Muzzammil “Mo” Hassan, founder and CEO of Bridges TV, an Islamist channel designed to present moderate Islam to diverse audiences, has been arrested for beheading his wife after she filed for divorce.  Hassan was given an award in 2007 by the Hamas-linked Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR).

Imagine if he was a Televangelist!

Mark Steyn is on the cutting edge of the story in his latest piece, Headless Body in Gutless Press

When poor Mrs. Hassan’s husband launched his TV network to counter negative stereotypes of Muslims, he had no difficulty generating column inches, as far afield as The Columbus Dispatch, The Detroit Free Press, The San Jose Mercury NewsVariety, NBC News, the Voice of America, and the Canadian Press. The Rochester Democrat & Chronicle put the couple on the front page under the headline “Infant TV Network Unveils The Face Of Muslim News”.

But, when Muzzammil Hassan kills his wife and “the face of Muslim news” is unveiled rather more literally, detached from her corpse at his TV studios, it’s all he can do to make the local press — page 26 of Newsday, plus The Buffalo News, and a very oddly angled piece in the usually gung-ho New York Post, “Buffalo Beheading: Money Woe Spurred Slay“.

aasiya_hassanHere’s the formerly happy couple…As you can see, they are the definition of “moderates.”

He only went slightly overboard from what the Quran told him to do…

Give him a Sharia court, and they’re likely to find him innocent.

When Is A Door Not A Door?

29 01 2009

When it’s ajar the Oval Office window.

Brilliant Obama looked equally the fool as Bush when he couldn’t figure out the proper door to use to get back into the White House.

However there’s two remarkable differences in the similar cases.  Bush was duped by the existence of a door knob, however locked it was.  And Bush’s blunder will never be forgotten, whereas  Obama’s will never even be gotten.

I’ve Never Felt Like This About Someone

20 01 2009

On second thought, maybe I have.

Truth is, in 1999-2000, I hated George Bush for the motherloving President’s-son, silver-spoon, frat-boy, skull&bones, coke-blowin’,chimp-lookin’, oil-slurpin’-Texas bumpkin that I thought he was is was.

But soon thereafter, “respecting the office” meant, me caring for the man as I came to wonder how he somehow went to bed every night and believing that he actually was trying to help America, not just kill brown peoples.

Now, to review the duality and the crazy way that things work out…that if on 9/11/01 you were  told that American mainland wouldn’t be attacked again in 8 years, but that our next President would be named Barack Hussein Obama

Would you have said we won or lost?

Sorry was that ethnocentric of me?

So, Bush is now done but he’ll continue to write letters to every single family of fallen servicemen.  And supposedly bleeding heart liberals, like this A-hole Bruce Springsteen, can’t even find a single thing to thank him for.

Not a single thing.

Even in this crazy infinite world, where we can never truly know the answers to, “what if…”

They hate him like he was Saddam Hussein and it was 1998.

But it’s 2009.

Hussein (Saddam) is now a peaceful, secular victim to the crusading, genocidal war criminal and terrorist, George Bush.  Bush is so damned evil (how evil is he?) he’s so evil he inoculated the word, “Hussein” so Obama could use it as an attribute.  Bush actually opened the door for another man of perfectly opposite speaking ability, to come out of nowhere and enthrall hundreds of millions around the world with a single word.

“Change.”

See, you can’t predict anything in this madness.

Al Gore might have won Florida and gone on to invade Iraq, Saudi Arabia, AND IRAN. (Updated link here)

No?  That’s outrageous you say?

So, for a newer, wiser me and the President-I-didn’t-vote-for?

I hope and believe the office of the Presidency will sober any man right out of his partisanship.  The things that become known to him after his victory might explode normal human brains.

And so, being “blinded by my love for America,”  I already feel a bond with Obama in many respects, especially in light of recent burnt pictures of him in the Muslim world.

Importantly, 79% of Americans, meaning; over 60% of Republicans, are optimistic about an Obama Administration.  His numbers display a 20% advantage in the nation’s support over what Bush enjoyed in 2001, highlighted by this Newsbusters.org pic, taken at Bush’s inauguration.

bush-inauguration

The vast majority of Republicans are “country firsters” and realize success for Obama should mean success for America.

I’m willing to start anew and give him the benefit of the doubt until I see otherwise.  I have admonished the cognitive dissonance of liberals as they seemed to actively root for tragic milestones.  I’ll not do the same.  And, I’ll be more supportive of his domestic plans when I’m convinced he shares the belief that America is the most exceptional nation on earth, who’s culture is special and worth preserving at all costs.

Even before I’m convinced, I want to wish him well and let everyone know that I’ll be pissing liberals off by praying for President Obama and his family.

Certainly some of you are disagreeing or wondering how I can say that when I’ve been so exceptionally hard on him?

The fact is, my overt expressions on sensitive issues pertaining to Obama and my lack of trust can be directly traced to the death of the journalistic reporting.  I shouldn’t have had to dig to find a single negative story about a man who is a complete unknown, before electing him President of the United States.

Journalists nowadays are lap dogs instead of watch dogs as they have deemed it their job to transform America rather than police those who’s job that actually is.

This utter failure of the mainstream media hit Americans like a Whopper shortage and naturallycitizen amateur unlicensed non-corporate alternatives have sprung up to ask the basic questions. (Who? What? Where? When? Why? How?)

It’s big media’s fault that there weren’t professional resources allocated to investigate a lot of the crazy things that came up about Obama and for that matter, rudimentary things.  But time didn’t stop when they failed to do their job, and in the interim, a man has been elected by the majority of Americans, so I’ll be rooting for him.

Now let’s all celebrate the peaceful transfer of power and enjoy the speech written by this guy:
